Bloemfontein: Bloemfontein Celtic came from behind to beat Stellebosch FC 2-1 in an Absa Premiership fixture at the Dr Molemela Stadium; Mangaung; Bloemfontein, on Sunday afternoon.
Maloisane Ramasimong and Siphelele Luthuli scored within two second half minutes to lead Siwelele to all three points after Wazeem Isaacs had given the visitors the lead in the City of Roses.
Victory moves Celtic up to ninth on the log standings while Stellies remain in 15th place, having yet to win a game this season.
Robyn Johannes made an immediate impact on debut for the visitors, clearing the ball off the line in the 32nd minute. Stellenbosch would go on to score two minutes later with Isaacs becoming the first Stellies player to find the back of the net in South Africa’s top-flight.
Ryan Moon teed up his attacking partner who’s crisp left-footed shot whistled straight through Jackson Mabokgwane’s legs and into the back of the net.
Isaacs came close to doubling the visitors advantage in the 44th minute, but despite having Mabokgwane beaten, he was denied a second by the woodwork as the ball cannoned off the crossbar and out of danger.
Celtic, though, would deny the visitors a first victory in the Premiership with goals from Ramasimong and Luthuli within the space of two minutes leading the hosts to victory.
