Warden: A 29-year-old suspect from; Ezenzeleni near Warden, is expected to appear before Warden Magistrate court today; Wednesday; 05 February 2020, facing charge of common robbery.

His accomplice would be traced by police. It is alleged that on the 03 February 2020, a filling station owner and other man were walking on foot to local bank to deposit undisclosed amount of cash. Apparently, they were surprised by two young men who grabbed and snatched the money bag from them.

They screamed for help and immediately called the police. The community members who saw the incident chased the suspects but managed to grab one of them. They handed him over the police upon their arrival and money was recovered.

“I want to applaud our committed members of community for ensuring that were are partners in fighting crime. It is a fact that police alone cannot fight crime. We therefore encourage community police around various policing precinct in the Free State to be active in assisting to ensure that we have a crime free province. Together we can reduce crime and squeeze space for criminals in order to turn the tide around.” said the Free State Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Baile Motswenyane.
