Bultfontein: During December 2019 a burglary was reported by a 50 year old complainant where items such as a laptop and Norinco pistol firearm were stolen.
On Saturday; 08 February 2020, Crime Prevention members Warrant Officer Petrus Motaung and Constable Tsietsi Tladi, received a tip-off about a proliferation of a firearm. Information was followed up and a 25 year old was arrested which led to the arrest of two other suspects who exchanged the firearm, one being a traditional healer.
The fourth suspect was arrested for buying a suspected stolen laptop. Three suspects, Moeketsi Thomas Marake (25), Sello Abraham Letshonyo (35), foreign national traditional healer and Machale Johannes Mokhoro (32), appeared in the Bultfontein Magistrate court on the 10 February 2020 on the charge of possession of firearm whilst the fourth one, Nokuthula Happiness Mqwathi (23); an educator in a local school, appeared on a charge of possession of suspected stole property.
Their case was postponed to 14 February for formal bail application. The fourth suspect; Me. Mqwathi, was released on warning to appear in court.
