Lindley: Four suspects; Johannes Mofokeng (47), Johannes Xaba (45), Molahlehi Solomon Leseba (43) and Mohapi Benjamin Mofokeng (38) appeared in the Lindley Magistrates` Court on Monday; 4 December 2017, after they were found in possession of presumably suspected stolen meat. They were each granted bail of R1 000 and their case postponed to 19 December 2017. An apparent Festive Season feast was brought to a rude halt on Thursday; 30 November 2017 in Lindley, when bags of chopped meat were recovered.

Members of Lindley SAPS reacted to information about a house in Ntha Location; Lindley, where the carcass of a suspected stolen cow was being kept. A raid of the identified house led to the discovery. When suspects could not provide proof of ownership, they were immediately arrested.

The Police also encourage those buying meat for the purpose of ceremonies such as weddings, parties, stokvels and funerals to keep proof of purchase handy. Avoid the embarrassment of having your ceremony interrupted.
