Bloemfontein: Free State Cricket today announced Magnifisan as their proud sponsor for the new domestic cricket set-up. Cricket South Africa have confirmed the restructuring of domestic cricket, which will see South Africa’s six franchise teams expand to 12 Provincial teams from May 2020.

Magnifisan Maize Meal is a product of the VKB Group and will be sponsor to the Mangaung Oval based cricket team.

“Free State Cricket is proud to announce their partner for the coming years as Magnifisan, a product of the VKB Group and we are very proud to be associated with it”, commented Chief Executive of Free State Cricket Johan van Heerden.

VKB has been a sponsor to the Central Region’s VKB Knights for the past 5 years and Free State is happy to have them on board for the new era of cricket.

“It has been a long time coming with the VKB Knights and it is very lovely to now take a single product and turn it into a Free State sponsor. The VKB Group are leaders in their field and we are very happy to still be associated with them.”Johan said.

The new Domestic Cricket set-up will take effect as off May 2020 and the boys will be back in town.

“We are looking forward to a fruitful relationship with Magnifisan and hopefully we can give them return on the investment they need to establish their brand in South Africa.” added Johan.

Magnifisan is also the main sponsor of the Free State Cricket team for the Provincial T20 Cup taking place in September this year; and will also have branding rights on all age group teams going to various CSA National Weeks during the month of December 2019. This year the Free State Cricket team will be known as Magnifisan Free State.

“As the VKB Group, we believe that our continuous commitment to quality, value and excellence in terms of products and services we offer, will align very well with the vision for Free State Cricket,” commented Head of Corporate marketing for the VKB Group, Jan van der Walt.

Magnifisan is a wonderful product and is already a well-established brand in the Limpopo region.

“We believe we can grow Magnifisan into a beloved national brand through this association with Free State Cricket”. The slogan ‘It’s magic’ will hopefully ignite a spark and serve as motivation to the players to create some of their own,” Jan said.

“We are extremely delighted with the new sponsor for new beginnings. Free State will have its own identity with the introduction of new domestic cricket,” commented President of Free State Cricket Zola Thamae.

“Magnifisan has come to the right place with good timing. We are all excited and we can’t wait to put hands on deck.” concluded Thamae.
