Welkom: The Police are looking for an African male in connection with a case of Theft where he lured the man and convinced him to leave his property with him. He also sent the victim to withdraw cash for him at the bank.

On Wednesday 24 July 2019, Mr Tshegofatso William Tlhone was on his way home and walking in Donaldbain Street, Bedelia near Welkom High School, when he met an unknown African male standing next to the road and talking on a cellphone.

The suspect approached Mr Tlhone and told him that he is waiting for someone who must fetch him at that point and that he is not from Welkom and needs to withdraw cash from a Bank.

The suspect requested Mr Tlhone to assist him by taking his bank card to withdraw money for him and he will be rewarded with R100.00, when he comes back.

The suspect gave Mr Tlhone R200.00 note, car keys, and a Bank Card and told him to go withdraw money and he will wait for him at the same spot. He told Mr Tlhone to leave his bag with him which contained a Lacer Laptop and a Samsung J4 Dous Cellphone.

He called Mr Tlhone back and asked for that R200.00 back and he left. Mr Tlhone arrived at the ATM and tried to withdraw money using the pin he was provided with by the suspect, but the ATM said the pin was invalid.

He went back where he left the suspect and he was not there. The items that the suspect left with, amount to R7500.00

The suspect is dark in complexion and he was wearing black long sleeve shirt with a blue stone washed jeans.
