Welkom: Police in Welkom need assistance in tracing the whereabouts of two suspects who allegedly robbed a teenage girl her laptop and cellphone while she was on her way to college (Goldfieds TVET College) in Zomba Street, Welkom.

On the 11 September 2019, a 19 year old girl was walking to college. She was approached by an unknown African male who was very friendly to the victim and identified himself as Thabiso. The suspect claimed that he is a police official on suspension and walked with the victim stating that he is heading to the same direction.

As they were walking, another unknown African male came straight to them and pulled out a knife from his waist and threatened the teenage girl. The victim asked Thabiso to help her but instead he grabbed the teenager from behind and started searching her while the other suspect was still pointing a knife at the victim.

The two suspects took the victim’s black Access Laptop and a Mobicell Astro Gold cellphone and ran away. The suspects are aged between 25 and 30 and are still at large.
