Allanridge: Members of community policing forum patrollers showed courage and commitment in ensuring that Nyakallong is a safe and crime free area. In these two incidents these Community Patrollers never take law into their hands but called the Allanridge Police.

On the 15 May 2019, Nyakallong Community patrollers were on routine patrols when they saw three suspicious men with torches. As they approached the three men to check what they were doing, the men took off and ran away. As the community forum members went closer to where the suspects were sitting, they discovered garden tools and a grinder with a roll of copper cable with an estimated value of R22 000.00.

They safe guarded the scene and called Allanridge Police station. The Police arrived at the scene and confiscated the items.

In a separate incident, on the 10 May 2019, Nyakallong Community Patrollers were busy with their routine foot patrols in Nyakallong when they noticed a petrol tank trailer abandoned. They instantly informed Allanridge Police who came and seized the item.

The Cluster Commander of Welkom, Major General Lerato Molale, applauded the brave men and women of Nyakallong Community Patrollers for their efforts and bravery in assisting the Police in keeping Nyakallong to be a safer and crime free precinct.

He further advices other residents in different towns to emulate residents of Nyakallong for a good work they are doing in assisting the Police to combat crime.
