Welkom: Apparently this pensioner was asleep at his residence when two men with balaclava forced entry, took him with his Toyota Corolla to a secluded area.

They demanded his pin of his bank card and withdrew undisclosed amount of cash. He was kept for days and released whereby he was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit of one of the hospitals in Welkom. Suspects are still at large with the pensioner’s vehicle.

On the 15 July 2019, a 70 year old pensioner residing in Dewet street; Reitzpark; Welkom, was asleep when two unknown men forced entry into his house and were wearing balaclavas.

They forced him out of his house and drove off with him inside a bronze Toyota Corolla with registration number HFF 384 FS. The flat screen television set was also taken.

The victim was taken to a secluded area and locked inside a shack house. The suspects assaulted him while demanding his bank card pin number, to withdraw an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was kept inside that shack until Thursday; the 18 July 2019 and was released. The daughter was informed about her father when he was in the hospital.

A case of car-jacking and kidnapping has been registered for further investigation.
