Phuthaditjhaba: Three suspects are behind bars following a cross pavement robbery at Setsing CBD in Phuthaditjhaba in the afternoon of the 02 March 2020.

It is alleged that security guards were delivering money at a supermarket in Setsing CBD when they were accosted by armed suspects and robbed of cash. They fled on foot but later seen being picked up by getaway vehicles.

A Crime intelligence driven operation by Phuthaditjhaba TRT, was conducted in areas around Phuthaditjhaba and a suspicious white Renault Stepway sedan, with GP registration, was accosted at Moteka road near Bluegumbosch, with three occupants.

Preliminary investigation led to a house in Letsha-le-maduke village where a white Kia Sportage that was reported stolen in Florida, Gauteng was found.

An LM rifle, with two magazines plus 59 rounds, a Z88 police firearm and 29 rounds, magnum clock (11 hollow pointers) and another pistol with 16 rounds, were found.

The three suspects were also found in possession of an undisclosed amount of cash. Police are looking for other two suspects believed to be on the run with another vehicle and cash.
