Welkom: The alleged murder suspect of a young woman; Obed Leshoro, appeared briefly in Welkom Magistrate Court yesterday; 14 June 2019 and he decided to abandon his application for bail.

The body of Naledi Arcelia Lethoba [21] who originates from Bothaville, was found been murdered in a gruesome manner.

The case was postponed till the 12 July 2019 for further investigation.

On the 19 May 2019, Welkom Police received information about an unknown body of an African woman found at an open field at the corner of Buren and Arrarat streets Dagbreek Welkom.

The body was found with a knife stuck in her neck, two breasts cut off and had burn wounds on her lower body and face.

The deceased Naledi Lethoba who was a student in Goldfields TVET College Welkom was identified by her parents on the 24 May 2019 at Welkom Pathology Services [ Welkom Mortuary].

The suspect Mr Obed Leshoro [19], was arrested on the 28 May 2019 and first appeared on the 30 May 2019, in the Welkom Magistrate Court.

The case was postponed till the 14 June 2019 for formal bail application.

He appeared yesterday; 14 June 2019, in the Welkom Magistrate Court and decided to abandon his application for bail.
