Tseki and Kestell: Two suspects appeared briefly in two separate cases of attempted murder at Tseki and Kestell Magistrate courts after incidents in which a woman was allegedly shot inside a tavern and a man stabbed several time. Both victims were admitted at local hospitals.
Tseki: On 10 February 2020 the suspect, Steven Mokhemisa (35) of Tseki Village appeared briefly before Tseki Magistrate court on allegations of shooting a 29 years old woman at a tavern in Mphatlalatsane section. He is remanded in custody until 27 February 2020 for formal bail application.
This follows an incident on the 9 February 2020, where a 29-year-old woman got into an argument with a male patron at a tavern. It is alleged that the man became aggressive, pulled out a 9mm pistol and fired a shot in the direction of the woman. She was hit in the body and rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Kestell: On the10 February 2020 suspect, Fanyane Mazibuko (22) of Tlholong township; near Kestell, appeared before Kestell Magistrate court for allegedly stabbing, William Mosikili (32) with a knife on the head during a fight fueled by an argument. The case is postponed to 26 February 2020 for formal bail application.
The incident occurred on Friday; 6 February 2020, when and argument ensued between three men who were drinking at their home. It is alleged that the victim tried to intervene and he was stabbed and rushed to local hospital for medical treatment. The suspect was later arrested and knife used is seized by police.
