Welkom: On the 28 July 2016, a 16 year old boy stole a service pistol, 9mm Z88 of his father; who is a Police Officer at Steynsrus Police Station and he was joined by his friend to a hiking spot towards Kroonstad. A red Toyota Tazz stopped to give them a lift. Along the road, a 16 year old boy asked the driver to stop to relieve himself. After he alighted the vehicle, he drew the firearm and fatally shot the driver who was later identified as the late; Mr Molealea Ananias Ramosito  and was forced out of the driver’s seat and dumped in the farm called; Dennhof; in the district of Kroonstad.
The two boys drove off with a red Totoya Tazz. On the 9 August 2016, the two boys were arrested in Khuma for possession of a robbed Toyota Tazz and were detained in Kroonstad holding cells. A thorough investigation was conducted and interrogation which led to the discovery of the late Mr Ramosito’s body to be found dumped in Dennhof farm. The two suspects were charged with murder, robbery, possession of robbed motor vehicle. They were found guilty as charged by Kroonstad High Court which lasted from 6 till the 17 November 2017.
Mr Thabo Joshua Pitoro  and his friend  were sentenced as follows: 38 years in jail while his co-accused was sentenced to 41 years in jail. Both will serve fifteen  years effective in jail.
