You cannot change your past, but you can change your future.
You can hear a lot of voices in the world every day, but what are you really listening to? In other words, what are you tuning in and directing your attention to? When you focus in on the Spirit, when you listen to the still, small voice inside, He will keep you on the right path.
You cannot change your past, but you can change your future. If people keep taking advantage of you, maybe you’re letting them. Are you allowing people to exhaust your heart? Keep those who walk an honest path close and secure, and those who traverse a wicked path will be exposed.
There should be people in your life that inspire you, that challenge you, that make you strive to do better. When you are connected to someone that is blessed, you respect them, you admire them, you learn from them and you serve them.
The more blessed they are, the more blessed you are going to be. Eventually you are going to be like the people you are connected to. There is not one of us who does not have some regret about the things we have done or the things we have not done over the course of our lives.
It can be tempting to dwell on what is happened, but this is a fruitless habit. Yes, you may wish that things had been different, but focusing on what is over, wastes your time and energy.
No matter how old you are, embrace the time that you have in front of you and start right now. Use your life, every day and every hour, in ways that will enrich you and those around you. Your life is a precious gift. Celebrate the life that you have been given and fill it with substance and meaning.
