You teach people how to treat you by what you tolerate.
You teach people how to to treat you by both through your actions and your failure to act. Do not let what others have said or done stop you from living with purpose and enthusiasm. You are accepted and approved as you are. Do not believe the lies of the enemy telling you otherwise.
People come and go, but your plan for your life remains true forever. Shake off the negative voices around you and press forward into what life has prepared for you. One day you will forgive and forget people who hurt you, wronged you and walked out on you. They had to get out to make way for what is coming in.
Lift yourself up out of every low place. You have to remember that your words have power and what you say affects the people around you. Be mindful of what you say and choose to speak words of life. Everything is about to fall into place.
Everything we do in life has results. You go to work to make money. You go to gym because it helps you stay healthy. The same is true for human interactions. People do not do things independently of the outcomes.
You may have a colleague who consistently takes credit for your ideas or goes out of his way to throw you under the bus. Or maybe someone is always rude to you or takes you for granted. These people behave that way because they are getting some kind of results from you.
I am not implying that you are responsible for another person’s behavior. This is not about blame. But I am saying that, you have power over your reactions. So if there is a person in your life who is not treating you with the respect and consideration you deserve, you have a couple of decisions to make. Are you willing to accept accountability, and do you really want to make a change?
If the answer is yes, then you should ask yourself: “What am I doing to elicit this person’s behavior or to allow it to continue?” Even if you think you aren’t doing a thing, your inaction is speaking for you.
