Virginia: Thabong Cluster Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit request the community to assist them by providing information which will assist in tracing rape suspect.

This comes after a 13 year old was allegedly raped by an unknown man on Saturday, 21 September 2019, in Virginia.

It is alleged that a 13 year old was walking alone when she was grabbed by an unknown African male who ordered her to walk with him. The suspect further threatened the victim and took her to an open space near Grysbok Street, where he raped her. The suspect allegedly gave the victim R2,50 and fled the scene.

The suspect is an African male aged between 25 and 30, with an estimated height of 1.9. He has a green ink tattoo on the neck below his left ear. He also has a scar close to his left ear. On the day of the incident, he was wearing a black sports hat, red or black shirt and light blue jeans.

In another separate incident, a 36 year old was allegedly raped on Tuesday; 17 December 2019, in Meloding; Virginia. The victim was allegedly walking home when she met an unknown African male who offered to walk her home. Across an open field, he took out a pepper spray and sprayed the victim. He further took out a firearm and forced the victim into the open field where he raped her.

The suspect is an African Sotho speaking male aged between 30 and 35. He is light in complexion with an estimated height of 1.9 cm. On the day of the incident, he was wearing a navy K-way beany, a navy jacket, khaki pants and black shoes.
