Odendaalsrus: A 12-year-old boy suspected to have murdered a 15-year-old boy in Kutlwanong, has appeared at Odendaalsrus Magistrates’ Court on Monday; 28 June 2021.
The case was postponed to Monday, 13 July 2021 for Social Workers’ assessment due to his age, to determine whether the boy is fit to stand trial.
He will remain under custody of a guardian pending his next court appearance.
This follows an alleged incident where a 15 year-old boy and the 12 year-old boy were playing a gambling game in the street at Blok 7; Kutlwanong; Odendaalsrus on Friday; 25 June 2021. The two later engaged in a heated argument and the 12 year- old went home.
On his return he allegedly pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed Lebohang in the chest. The victim fell and was declared dead at the scene. The deceased was a grade 9 learner whilst the 12 year-old suspect is in grade 6 at separate schools in Kutlwanong.
