Bethlehem: Vusimusi Simon Mokone aged 43 was sentenced to life imprisonment by the
Bethlehem Regional court for raping a 59 years old woman.
On Thursday 26 September 2019, Mokone and the victim were drinking at the local tavern when they decided to leave. Mokone asked the victim to accompany him to his place where he was going to fetch the money in order for them to have further drinks.
On arrival at his place, Mokone became aggressive to the victim and began to assault her and imposed death threats to her. He undressed the victim and tried to rape him but lost the erection and proceeded to rape the victim with his fingers.
After raping the victim he ordered her to leave his place. A severely injured victim reported the matter to the police and Mokone was subsequently arrested. He was denied bail and remained in custody until he was sentenced.
