Bloemfontein: Two suspects will appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Wednesday; the 24 March 2021, for allegedly robbing a Bangladesh citizen at his shop over the weekend.
The victim, Mr Ali Bhiyan (28) was sleeping in his shop in Kagisanong in Bloemfontein on Sunday; 21 March 2021, when he was allegedly overpowered by two suspects. One pointed him with a firearm and they took money, groceries, airtime and cigarettes.
Within hours after the incident, Sergeant Mokete Motsoai from the Kagisanong Detectives and members of the K9 Unit in Bloemfontein, followed up information that led them to a place where one of the suspects was drinking. The suspect aged 29, was arrested and further information led the team to the second suspect aged 25.
Upon searching their places, the police confiscated some of the cash, groceries and various cigarettes suspected to have been stolen at the shop.
The two suspects are in detention and will appear in court on Wednesday; 24 March 2021, on charges of business robbery.
