Bloemfontein: A 50-year old accused, Shadrack Malebo aka” Bazooka” appeared in court on the 06 February 2019. He was sentenced to life imprisonment on first count of rape where he raped a 10 year old boy, 15 years each for count 10, 11 and 12 where he sexually assaulted boys aged 12, 13 and 15.
His name will be entered into the National Sexual offender register and he is not allowed to work with children. This follows the incident that happened one rainy afternoon on 2016 December 28 at about 16:30. Five boys (victims) were playing soccer on the open field near Hillside View.
Bazooka came and made them to believe that he is coaching them. When it started to rain, he went with them under a tree on that open space. That’s where he put the box under a tree and started raping the boys’ one after the other while forcing others to watch.
When the victims saw a passerby car, they went to it running and crying and reported to them what is happening. By that time Bazooka was busy with his last victim. He then ran away when he saw the vehicle coming towards him. The matter was reported at Kagisanong police station.
The case was assigned to Constable Mosiouwa Samuel Ntholeng of Family Violence Children and Sexual Offence Unit (FCS Unit) who left no stone unturned to ensure that Bazooka will never abuse women and children again.
Bazooka’s rape spree started in 1992 when he was 22- years old and all his victims were boys aged 10 but under 15 years of age.
