Be Free to Forgive!!!!!

Mahatma Gandhi said that the weak can never forgive and forgiveness is an attribute of the strong.

When I was watching what was unfolding last week; in reference to the protests in the US and throughout the world, I could not be more happier as speakers, analysts, family members, politicians, activists and friends, talked more about forgiveness.

Yes the reforms, were high on their agendas, however, they talked more on reconciliation and peace. There is no doubt, if you have moral and human fibre, that we know of systematic injustices, racialism, tribalism, corruption, collusion, looting of state resources, and so on and we need to stand up against these unjust acts.

I remember one of the greatest leaders, after spending 27 years in jail and after one of the massacres, talked more about forgiveness, reconciliation and peace.

Forgiveness will heal you, free you, and propel your life into a completely new territory of blessings and miracles. You might have been through some bad breaks. People may have said things about you and done things to you that hurt and offended.

Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.” – Buddha

We cannot say we truly forgive someone and wish them hurt or harm. Once we make the conscious decision to forgive someone, we have to move on. We may have to love them from a distance and wish them well in our hearts.

Forgiving and learning to love those who hurt us in spite of the things they have done is one of the most powerful pieces of all.

In closing; Mahatma Gandhi said: “The weak can never forgive; forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.” Find your inner strength to forgive others and discover the happiness and the freedom you deserve.
