Bloemfontein: Lebogang Manyama scored his first goal in a Kaizer Chiefs colours as Phefeni Glamour Boys lifted the Macufe Cup 2018, with a 2-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic at the Free State Stadium on Sunday 14 Ocober 2018, afternoon.

In the 84th minute, Celtic missed a clear chance to send the contest to penalties, but Bongani Sam failed to get Given Mashikinya’s cross-field pass on target. Celtic chased the game looking for a late equalizer and threw numbers forward.

This left the defence exposed and substitute Dumisani Zuma, doubled the score and put the match to bed in the 90th minute in front of vocal crowd.

It was Chiefs’ first trophy of the season‚ although in an unofficial tournament‚ with Italian coach Giovanni Solinas on the bench.

Celtic coach, Steve Khompela, used the match to test combinations and gave fringe players and those coming from long lay offs, like the likes of Wandisile Letlabika, to gain valuable play times. Though dissapointed by the results, Coach Steve, was satisfied with the objectives.

Celtic return to domestic football this coming weekend in the Telkom TKO when they travel to Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atterdgeville, west of Pretoria, to tackle Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday night.
