Qwa-Qwa: Deputy President, David Mabuza together with Premier Sisi Ntombela, embarked on a service delivery oversight visit in Maluti-a-Phofung local municipality yesterday, 30 March 2021.
The visit emanates from a plethora of challenges that have been confronting the municipality over the past few years.
Following a series of interventions by the provincial government, led by Department of Cooperative Governance And Traditional Affairs, there has been a steady improvement in the municipality.
Of paramount importance is to get the municipality functioning properly and delivering service optimally to the community of Maluti a Phofung Local Municipality. Deputy President visited Elizabeth Ross power plant, which is at the centre of addressing the prevailing power shortages in the municipality. This plant will provide a much needed relief to the already existing infrastructure
Deputy President Mabuza welcomed the construction of a new power plant, however, he called for the speedy completion of the power plant. The leadership also visited two Royal Houses; Morena moholo Mopeli le Morena e moholo Mota.
The Premier appreciated the presence of MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Thembeni Nxangisa, Head of Department Mokete Duma and other officials for being part of yesterday’s program.
“The challenges in QwaQwa are not insurmountable. We can overcome them if all of us work together. Let us all pull together in one direction to realise our dream of building the Free State we want.” said Premier Sisi Ntombela.
