Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Albert Einstein is widely credited with the saying: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”

While I do not see that act as insane, I do however see it as a common trap that most of us fall into during our lives because we are at the end of the day, humans.

Human beings are creatures of routine. Even the most spontaneous among us, stick to a lot of routines and habits in life. For us, it is challenging to try different approaches to the problems in our life.

One will be stuck in an unfaithful and toxic relationship, rut, unfulfilling job, web of deceptions and lies, yet be unable to change his or her circumstance.

Believe you me, I am strong believer in faith. Faith on things unheard or unseen. Faith of people and circumstances changing. Faith alone, or repeating the same thing without success, is another issue.

Faith tells you to believe. It also tells you to take your life into a higher level. Faith tells you to take charge of your life and not expect manna to fall from Heaven. Repeating the same thing and moving in circles, does not.

A soccer coach cannot play the same team, same tactics and same game plan for 10 games without a win and expect he will get a different results.

A businessman cannot try to sell an item that has been on a shelf for a month without being sold and not change price, its location on the shelf or different marketing strategy and expect it will suddenly sell like hot potatoes or sell itself.

To get a different results, if you have tried, tried again and received the same results, is to change your game plan, tactics, strategy and vision. If things do not work out after couple of tries and you have tried several times, doing the same thing, take charge and change the course of your destination.

Something that is repetitive involves doing the same thing over and over again. If you get bored running on a treadmill daily, you might try something less repetitive, like playing soccer outdoors. Do something different or new and you will start seeing things differently.
