Virginia: Police request community assistance in tracing suspects after two men launched a
robbery at Thornriver farm, Virginia on Monday 10 August 2020.
It is alleged that the complainant Mr Fred Kutewesa, a Malawian national was in the farm house having dinner when he herd dogs barking outside. On close inspection he saw two men breaking the door. He called the owner of the farm and informed him that he was being attacked.
The suspects allegedly entered through the door and struck the complainant on the forehead with a stick. He managed to run away and hid until the owner and other farmers arrived at the farm to assist him.
The owner of the farm together with the complainant inspected the premises and realized that cellphone, clothing, groceries and a passport all belonging to the complainant were missing. The owner and the complainant went to report to the police station the following day Tuesday 11 August 2020.
A case of house robbery was opened for further investigation. Virginia police appeal to anyone with information to contact Detective Captain Amos Mlangeni at 065 808 1202.
