Fouriesburg: A total of five male suspects aged between 32 and 46 will appear in the Fouriesburg Magistrates` Court on Tuesday 24 October for crimes ranging between possession of stolen vehicle and illegal possession of ammunition. This follows a successful coordination and sharing of information among members of Fouriesburg Visible Policing and their counterparts at the Caledonspoort land port of entry on Saturday 21 October.
In the first incident, members of Visible Policing reacted to intelligence about a suspected stolen vehicle which was destined for neighbouring Lesotho. This was shared with members guarding the border. A quick coordination of efforts led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of two vehicles, one at the border post and another at a nearby farm where it would cross into Lesotho. One of the vehicles was confirmed as stolen in Gauteng while another`s registration details had been altered. Later on the same day, three other suspects were nabbed after trying to cross the border into Lesotho carrying several boxes of ammunition without proper documentation.
