The 2nd Corinthians; chapter 5; verse 7, says: “For we live by faith, not by sight.” What does it mean to walk by faith and not by sight? It means to keep moving, even if you do not know where you are going.
Martin Luther King Jr. said: “Faith is taking the first step, even when you do not see the whole staircase.” His words are true, as a journey of thousand miles starts with one little step.
“As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” – 2 Corinthians 4:18. It is a deep trust in what cannot be seen that provides hope.
When we are facing something difficult and we do not seem to get any relief from the pain, worries, or anxieties that it brings, even after praying relentlessly, it can be easy to feel as though God has abandoned us. However, He will never forsake or leave us.
Even though we may not see God working right now, trust and believe that he is preparing you for blessings and relief from what we you are facing somewhere down the road. This means that you keep rejoicing and praising Him through the hard times, knowing that God is still in control. Yes, He is always in control.
For we live today according to God’s promises, even though we cannot see them and not according to the temporary, arbitrary things that our eyes often focus on here on earth. This is also about our relationship with Christ.
“God is looking for not only a clinging bride but also a walking partner.” When we walk with him, we recognize that worship of Christ is not so much a “catalyst” to action but “an everyday walk of unbroken communion with our Lord and friend.”
I do not know where you are on this journey of walking by faith, but I encourage you, beg you, advise you and plead with you, to wave the white flag of surrender. Let God take your life, your pain, your worries, your loss and use it for his glory. For faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Ask him to do an amazing work in you so he can do an amazing work through you. Ask Him to live with and within you, to be your constant partner, live His way, so that you can live a better life. Get out of that boat and step onto the water and never take your eyes off him. It is a decision you will never regret.
