Welkom: Constables Tsoeu Mokhele, Motsumi Mokutu, Theko Molai, Sello Mokhele and Teboho Mofokeng attached to the Community Service Centre [CSC], were commended after they reacted swiftly and arrested four suspects for Business Burglary and Possession of stolen property few minutes after they were reported.
In the early hours of yesterday morning, SAPS members were patrolling in the CBD when they received a message through a vehicle radio that they should be on the look-out for suspicious African males in the CBD who stole items from the clothing shop in Mooi Street, Welkom.
After they received the message, they then drove to Mooi Street to look for suspects.
They saw four African men and immediately stopped them. They started searching them and found some of the stolen items in their possession. Further investigations conducted by the members led to the recovery of some of the stolen items hidden opposite the old Liberty centre in the CBD.
Stolen items worth R50 600.00, a black Acer computer with keyboard, speed point, clothes [leather jackets, jumping suits, jeans, skirts,] luggage bags and school bags, were confiscated.
The four suspects aged 24, 32, 39 and 41, will soon appear before Welkom Magistrates court.
