Bloemfontein: Former Free State Senior Provincial player and current Free State Under 13 Framework coach, PJ Jansen, has been crowned as Mr Central South Africa 2019.

Mr Central South Africa is a campaign to create awareness against gender-based violence. “In a world were women are always subjected to abuse, I want to be the voice of hope and to show our sisters that they are not alone in the fight against gender-based violence”, comment PJ Jansen. “We need to protect our women and make them feel safe”, said Mr Central SA.

“I have been involved in charity work for some years now so I saw this campaign as an opportunity for me to give back to the community. I believe sport has the power to change the world and open doors for future stars”, added the Free State coach.

Jansen has also been working closely with Martie Du Plessis School in Bloemfontein as a mentor to the learners to show them how hard work and focus can help them in life.

“Being crowned as Mr Central SA is still an unreal feeling. I have worked hard to get here and I will continue to use this platform to motivate and encourage the next generation.” concluded Mr Central SA.
