Bloemfontein: State Premier together with her Members of the Executive Council will celebrate mother’s day with vulnerable families across the province. The programme is led by Premier Sisi Ntombela, and coordinated by MEC for Social Development Mamiki Qabathe.
This programme will be marking mother’s day by acknowledging the hardships faced by unemployed women in the province and child-headed households in the identified local municipalities.
MEC of Social Development; Mamiki Qabathe reported that 253 490 people have been reached through the distribution of 50 698 food parcels during these hard times of covid 19 with the assistance of dedicated stakeholders in our province.
This initiative of feeding the needy and vulnerable families will continue to provide food parcels for our indigent people across the Province in celebration to Mother’s day.
This initiative will ensure that close to 150 vulnerable families in an identified local municipality get food parcels. On our verge to eradicate poverty in our province, the department of social development is working closely with all departments in order to provide these food parcels to vulnerable families.

Free State Government has committed itself to eradicating poverty through identifying vulnerable families in the entire province.
