Bloemfontein: The Free State Provincial Government has noted remarks and statements attributed to its former Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Mr. Mxolisi Dukwana.
The Free State Provincial Government would like to confirm that there is a matter which is under the jurisdiction of the Bloemfontein High Court, between Mr. Mxolisi Dukwana, the Premier of the Free State, Mrs. Sefora ‘Sisi’ Ntombela and the MEC for Economic, Small Business, Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Mrs. Limakatso Mahasa.
“We would like to reiterate that it is in the interest of all South Africans, including the Free State Provincial Government and its leadership, for any citizen with credible information to avail that such information for the assistance of the Commission of Inquiry on State Capture, or any Commission established in terms of the Constitution.” the Director-General of the Free State Province, Mr. Kopung Ralikontsane said.
The Free State Provincial Government urges Mr. Mxolisi Dukwana to allow the processes of court to be concluded before he makes public pronouncements on this matter. It is the view of the Free State Provincial Government that a departure by Mr. Mxolisi Dukwana to deviate from the ongoing court process smacks of malice. The Free State Provincial Government has a proven track record of adhering to the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), No. 2 of 2000.
