Bloemfontein: As of the 13 January 2021, Free State has recorded a cumulative COVID-19 cases of 68 142, with 566 new cases since the last report.
The latest Free State COVID-19 new cases data is as follows:
There are 566 new cases:
- 124 in Mangaung Metro;
- 73 in Fezile Dabi;
- 195 Thabo Mofutsanyana;
- 154 in Lejweleputswa;
- 16 in Xhariep; and
- 4 Unknown districts
Provincial cases data is as follows:
- Total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the province 68 142;
- 56 958 (84%) recoveries;
- The prevalence among people younger than 20 years is 12% (7 946 out of 68 142);
- The median (IQR) age of cumulative COVID-19 cases is 39 (29-52) years;
- More females are infected (60%; 40 546 out of 68 003);
- 2 375 deaths reported in the province to date, with highest case fatality rate reported in Lejweleputswa District;
- The provincial case fatality rate is 3.5%;
- The median (IQR) age of COVID-19 deaths is 64 (54-74) years;
- Majority of the deaths are in older age groups – 45 years and above (2 061 out of 2 375); and
- 44% of deaths are recorded among males (1 041 out of 2 375).
