Bloemfontein: On Tuesday, 05 April 2022, the Free State Provincial Executive Council and the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Department; led by Minister, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, kickstarted the strategic build-up engagements leading up to the Distric Development Model Presidential Imbizo scheduled to take place in Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality; in Bloemfontein.

The Presidential Imbizo is a strategic platform that provides an opportunity for communities to input on how government undertakes its cardinal responsibility of providing services.

The Imbizo seeks to create a cohesive environment wherein communities determine the trajectory and direction of their future. By sharpening and strengthening institutions entrusted with the Delivery of services.

Free State Premier; Sisi Sefora Ntombela together with the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs; Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma met with Mayors, Speakers and at various stakeholders across municipalities in the province as part of the intensive preparatory programme for upcoming District Development Model Presidential Imbizo.

The upcoming Presidential Imbizo hopes to resolve issues of service delivery which include among other things: the housing backlog, water infrastructure maintenance, waste collection and also insure that the city is clean.

The Imbizo will take place as follows:
