Wepener: On 22 November 2017, four suspects entered the house at Kwetla Location, Wepener and demanded money from the owner.
They fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No shot shots were fired and no visible injuries reported.
The forty three year old victim alleges that the four suspects entered the house through main door after she went outside to investigate when she heard dogs barking outside. The suspects pointed her with a firearm and she was ordered not to cry. They took the money, ransacked the house and fled the scene.
The money belongs to a “stockvel”, whom the victim is a treasurer. Three suspects had balaclavas in their faces and one suspect had a bandana (cloth). SAPS is appealing to the community to assist with information that could lead to the successful apprehension of the four suspects.
Cluster Commander Colonel Guma would like to warn “stockvel” people that they must immediately take the money to a bank where it will be kept safe to minimise chances of it being robbed by criminals.
A case of House Robbery is being investigated.
