There is no experience quite like that of driving yourself to the point of wanting to give up and then not giving up. You have to want it as bad as you want to breathe. I would tell myself that I truly wanted to become successful, smart, rich, and famous but without really doing the actual work.
Actions speak louder than words. You can talk about becoming successful and how you are planning on becoming this or achieving that, but unless you actually set out to achieve them, people will see right through you.
Most importantly, we will know the truth about ourselves, but we like to give ourselves a break and think that we are achieving something just by talking and thinking about it. We think we are getting closer to our goals when we have been standing in place the whole time.
It is not easy to do the impossible (that is why it is impossible). When you do something that is never been done before, it will be hard. But if you conceive it, you can do it. It all comes down to one question:
