Bronville; Welkom: Intelligence driven operation by members of Bronville Community Service Centre and Detectives led to the arrest of six suspects in connection with murder of a man who was found at an open field between Hani park and Extension 18 with multiple stab wounds and a gunshot wound.

The police said they cannot rule out that the fight was gang related but that will be thoroughly investigated.  

The members followed up information which led to the arrest of six suspects at Mandela park and Hani park respectively.

The first three suspects Vuyani Booi (29), Motlatsi Maleke (26) and Pakiso Thipe (30) have already appeared in court last week for formal bail application. Subsequently one of the other three suspects was found in possession of illegal firearm and was arrested.

Additional suspects, Nkosinathi Kadi (19), Lebohang Lekenyane (28) and Mafa Sula (32), were also arrested and have made their first appearance before the Welkom Magistrate’s court for murder. The case was postponed till the 15 March 2021 for bail application.
