Bloemfontein: The Compensation Fund will embark on a four-day Community Outreach Campaign in the Free State towns of Viljoenskroon, Hertzogville and Hoopstad this week.
The campaign is hosted in conjunction with other branches of the department such as the Inspection and Enforcement Services, Public Employment Services, as well as the Unemployment Insurance Fund.
The Department of Labour agency is hosting the campaign in conjunction with the Department’s Inspection and Enforcement Services, Public Employment Services and the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).
“This campaign is envisaged to be a comprehensive one stop shop for all services of the Department of Labour,” said Nomfundo Douw-Jack, Free State Labour Department head.
During the outreach events, officials from the department will engage the community on applications lodged with UIF and Compensation Fund.
“Those clients with injury on duty claims or those who may have contracted diseases associated with their nature of work are called upon to come in their numbers to be assisted right on the spot. To that effect, the resident medical doctor, Dr Kahla, her nurses and other health professionals of the department will be present to assist clients. This team will be augmented by highly qualified administrators who will process claims instantly.” said the department in a statement on Monday.
Officials from the UIF, consisting of client service officers, will accept various applications while employer service officials will be update declarations on the system. Assessors will also be on hand to approve or reject claims.
“Labour Inspectors will also be present to register complaints and respond to enquiries from clients, workers in particular. Wherever possible, they will try to attend to some of those complaints on the spot,” the department said.
Job seekers will be able to submit CVs while they also be benefit from career guidance at the venue.
The outreach events will take place as follows:
- Tshepahalo Community Hall, Viljoenskroon, 19-20 November 2018, 9am – 6pm
- Malebogo Community Hall, Hertzogville, 21 November 2018, 9am – 6pm
- Solomon Mahlangu Community Hall, Hoopstad, 22 November 2018, 9am – 6pm
