Bethlehem: Motjolo Charles Malinga; aged 21, appeared before the Magistrate yesterday in Bethlehem on a charge of house robbery that occurred in the afternoon of Saturday; 12 June 2020 at Morelig, in Bethlehem.
He is expected to appear again in court next week Monday; 22 June 2020, for a bail application.
It is alleged that Malinga gained an entry by jumping the fence and found the owner of the house; Cornelius Lombard, busy with the garden. Lombard screamed trying to reprimand him but he ignored him and went into the house.
He proceeded to one of the bedrooms and took a cellphone belonging to Lombard’s daughter and took a laptop from another bedroom, before fleeing the scene.
Lombard notified the police and search for Malinga was constituted immediately. He was found and arrested the same day at Bergsig where he was hiding. During his arrest police, found both cellphone and laptop in his possession.
