Senekal: A 24-year-old man appeared before the Magistrate in Senekal for allegations of suspected stolen property. He is expected to appear again in the Senekal Magistrates court on 29 January 2019 on charges of Possession of Suspected stolen Property.
The suspect who is known as Botone Victor Maseko, was arrested on Sunday; 05 January 2019, after members of Paul Roux Crime Prevention received a tip-off about suspected stolen property hidden at Graaspan farm in Paul Roux, where he resides.
On their arrival at the farm, police did not find Maseko at his place and confiscated the property. The suspect later handed himself over to the police and admitted that the recovered property belongs to him, however he failed to prove ownership of the property and was arrested as a result.
Investigations revealed that recovered property was apparently stolen at another farm in Paul Roux.
Maseko was released on warning, on condition that he must not interfere with witnesses.
