Bethlehem: A 25-year-old Lwazi Zamisa, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Bethlehem Magistrates Court on Monday 4 February, for the murder of a foreign national; Ally Deogratis.

Ally Deogratis, then 28 years old, mysteriously went missing on 25 October 2017. He was reported missing and a file of missing persons was opened by the police in Bethlehem. His body was discovered by a resident lying on the banks of Liebenbergsvlei Dam; near Bohlokong; Bethlehem. It was tied with a rope that had a cement stone around the feet.

Investigation was conducted which led to the initial arrest of two men implicated in his murder. Constable Ntaoleng Mpotle who was investigating the murder case says she is thankful to residents who helped her nab the suspect.
