Odendaalsrus: Police in Odendaalsrus have launched a manhunt for 3 African males who were involved in a house robbery in Block 7, Kutlwanong. The suspects are still on the run.
The incident occurred on Thursday; 28 November 2019, when the 27 year old victim was at home with her kids sleeping. It is alleged that the suspects gained entry by breaking the devils fork fence and used a crowbar to break the kitchen door.
The victim was awakened by a flashing torch light in her face and was pointed with a firearm. Three African males were in her room, two armed with knives and demanding her husband’s firearm.
The suspects tied the victim and her two kids aged 9 and 13 with shoe laces while her 3 year old was still asleep and continued to ransack the house. The suspects threatened the 27 year old woman to rape and burn her with boiling water.
They managed to get hold old the safe keys and found nothing was found inside. The following items were stolen: Sansui plasma TV, Tempo and Diesel watches, wedding ring, perfumes, Acer Laptop, 5 cellphones with their boxes namely; Gold iPhone, Mobicel, Huawei, Samsung, and nokia, also two of the victims vihicles were stolen, a dark grey Toyota Hilux Double Cab with registration number HGJ 179 FS and a white 320i BMW with registration number JG 93 BJ GP.
The vehicles were later found abandoned in Viginia and were recovered. The total value of all stolen item is R95 000.00.
