Odendaalsrus: Police in Odendaalsrus arrested two African males aged 32 and 47 years, after they allegedly stole a copper cable at the municipality workshop in Odendaalsrus.

Both suspects have appeared in the Odendaalsrus Magistrates Court on Friday; 20 December 2019.

On Thursday 19 December 2019, Police responded to a complaint at Municipality Workshop in Odendaalsrus and met with the security officer who reported that the 32 year old suspect was caught in the premises stealing copper cable with two others who managed to run away, leaving their vehicle behind.

The vehicle was tested and results showed that it belongs to one of the Municipality’s electricians. The Police immediately arrested the caught suspect and seized a copper cable worth over R120 000.00, with house breaking equipment.

The 47 year old municipal employee came to the police station to visit the arrested suspect and to his surprise, the Police identified him as one of the suspects that was involved in the burglary and theft case of copper cable and he was arrested on the spot.
