Patience is not the ability to wait but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.

The dictionary defines patience as the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like.

It is also an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay.

It is when you are patient that you wait for the best moment to act. When you act on the spur of the moment, chances are, your emotions will undermine you rather than help you. Cooling off and assessing when to make a move is key to success. The hardest battle we face is with ourselves and how we react to life and situations. Lao Tzu once said: If you correct your mind, the rest of your life will fall into place. Your attitude will determine your altitude.

Having patience shows high moral standards. When things get uncomfortable in life, patience is a virtue and it will help you deal with the discomfort in a way that best suits your life and the people around you. Patience is an exercise of self-control that shows you can handle life when times get tough, have the ability to look outside of yourself, and can withstand judgment when you need to. In short, exhibiting patience shows that you have a high moral standard in life.

Displaying patience means that you can be tenacious and stay in something that you believe in, for the long haul. You do not try to cut corners or do things unethically, instead, you patiently work things out, do what needs to be done, and make things happen, and the commitment you show is a testament to your ability to stay with what is right and what will bring you the results you want.

Do not be hard on yourself. Take a step back for a moment. Marvel at your life, at the grief that softened you, at the heartache that wisened you, at the disappointments that opened your eyes, at the suffering that strengthened you and also at the teachings that gave you lessons of life. Despite everything, you still grow, you still look and feel positive and you surpassed your wildest imaginations. So, be proud of everything that you eventually achieve, when achieve them.
