Bultfontein: Members of Bultfontein Police Station under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Makhotso Motsoeli held an awareness campaign on breaking the silence on Domestic Violence at a local clinic.
On 24 January 2019 at 08:00, SAPS members together with their newly appointed Station Commander Lt. Colonel Motsoeli, held an awareness campaign to encourage community not to keep quiet about any form of abuse happening in their lives.
“Domestic violence is one major problem that we as the police officers are trying so hard to fight. It is difficult to fight its because its happening inside the houses. People must learn to talk so that they can be helped. Most of our community members have the tendency of withdrawing the cases against their perpetrators because they live with them, or they are family members and in most instances they are the ones who provide for the family. That must come to the end because most of the victims they end up being killed by the very same people who are supposed to protect them.” said the Station Commander, Lt Col. Motsoeli.
