Botshabelo: A crime combating operation around Botshabelo yielded success as police confiscated drugs and apprehended a male suspect.

On Tuesday; 11 January 2022, Botshabelo Crime Prevention members were conducting their patrols around Reahola Shopping Complex near a local taxi rank. The main aim was to prevent common robberies and drug trafficking.

On the same day, at about 13:00, members noticed one suspicious African male standing next to a hawker’s table. Upon searching around him, police found 14 grams of dagga.

A 23-year-old was apprehended for dealing in drugs.

Police confiscated 32 packets of crystal meth, five mandrax tablets and 14 grams of dagga.  Cash amounting to R1 500.00 was also found in the suspect’s possession.

The 23-year-old is expected to appear before the Botshabelo Magistrates’ Court soon.
