Bloemfontein: Three alleged business robbery suspects were denied bail by the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court and were remanded in custody until their next court appearance on the 12 November 2020.
The suspects, Tefe Lonwabo (31), May Thabo (40) and Qhaulane Thabiso (47) faced with a business robbery charge appeared in court on the 05 Thursday 2020, following their arrest for allegedly robbing a post office in Phahameng, Mangaung.
In the morning of Tuesday; the 03 November 2020; just as the Post Office officials reported on duty at Mafata Street in Phahameng, Mangaung they were allegedly ambushed by three unknown males, who demanded to know if they had already received the grant money.
The suspect then robbed the Post Office of an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene on foot. Fortunately members of Mangaung SAPS Crime Prevention Unit were doing their patrols near the crime scene and responded promptly to the call for help.
Thanks to their operational readiness, Sergeant Kekeletso Lebusho; Mokete Lesesa; Constable Palesa Malase and Godfrey Mqxekwa, managed to chase the suspect on foot until they apprehended them and recovered the stolen money as well as the firearm that was used during the robbery.
