Parys: Free State Premier; Honourable Sisi Ntombela, has led a high level delegation to Tumahole; Parys; in Ngwathe Local Municipality.
The visit to Tumahole comes a day after His Excellency; President Cyril Ramaphosa, addressed the nation on the New Adjusted Level 3 regulations and the arrival of the first consignment of the one million dozes of the COVID-19 vaccines in the country.
The vaccines will be arriving for testing at the National Control Laboratory in the Free State; one of the only twelve World Health Organization (WHO) state of the art laboratories in the world. This laboratory is one is the only one in the entire continent; equipped with the necessary capacity to test the integrity of the COVID-19 vaccines.
The Premier has appreciated these wonderful developments and the critical role played by the province, however, she emphasised the need to continue practicing the necessary health measures such as wearing of masks, sanitizing and social distancing.
Led by the Premier, today EXCO has embarked on an rigorous infrastructure projects oversight visit in Ngwathe Municipality. At the centre of the programme is to monitor the state of finished and ongoing projects across the municipality and service delivery broadly.
Infrastructure development is one of the cardinal pillars of economic growth and job creation.
Amongst the many projects, EXCO visited Fezile Dabi stadium to assess the state thereof and any outstanding work. The executive appreciated the work done across the board and noted challenges of incomplete projects that need urgent intervention as well as those that have been completed successfully.
