Bloemfontein: On Monday 28 January 2019, Bloemspruit SAPS members acted swiftly to a stock theft incident at Phase 6 location in Mangaung, Bloemfontein, and their swift response led to arrest of six suspects.
Upon approaching the mentioned house, it is alleged that two males ran out of the house but the police managed to apprehend them and proceeded to search inside the house. At a said house, the police found two females and discovered sheep skin, sheep heads, sheep hooved feet’s and internal organs of the sheep on the floor. The suspects denied any knowledge of the stock theft.
Whilst the Bloemspruit team was busy at the crime scene, Crime Intelligence members were following another lead and as a results thereof, two more suspects were arrested at Kopanong area after they were found in possession of four sheep carcases that is believed to be of the recovered items.
The estimated value of the sheep can be about R28 8000.
The suspects aged between 33 and 43 years old, are expected to appear at the Bloemfontein Magistrate court soon facing charges of being in possession of suspected stolen stock theft.
