Bloemfontein: The 41 year-old Mongezi Ishmael Fihla appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate court on Monday the 22 July 2019, after he was arrested on Friday 19 July for fraud.
The complainant made a report at Kagisanong police station of an incident where the suspect demanded money so he can secure a job in the Mangaung Metro.
The suspect was traced and during his arrest, police found CVs of people who were applying for different jobs. The suspect, who is driving a 4+1 taxi in Mangaung, allegedly convinced his victims whilst transporting them to different destinations around Mangaung to submit their CV’s to him as there are posts available in the Mangaung Metro Municipality.
He will thereafter contact the victim urging him or her to pay a substantial amount of money to secure the job, but the applicant will be left with no job and having lost the money he or she paid for the non-existing job.
Mangaung Police are pleading to Community members who fell victim to the scam to contact Detective Captain Tsietsi Mapuru on 079 464 0223.
The case was postponed to Monday, 29 July 2019 for formal bail application, he remains in custody.
