Bloemfontein: A couple, alleged to be involved in the murder of 74 year old Angelina Ncikazana Thibeletsa,  appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate court on Monday (21 January 2019), on the charges of murder, house robbery and theft of motor vehicle.

The case was postponed to 28 January 2019 for formal bail application. They were remanded in custody. The suspects, Lonwabo Ntombela (24) originally from Aliwal North and Masekati Mallela (21) originally from Winburg; who were tenants of the deceased, were arrested at Aliwal North on the 16 January 2019.

The two are alleged to have robbed the deceased of cash and jewellery on the 4 January 2019, before she was murdered and her body transported to Kroonstad where it was burnt.

He charred body was found dumped near a Kroonstad College on the 4 January 2019. Her vehicle, a white Peugeot which was sold by suspects in Lesotho is still to be recovered.
